Soulja boy escape as he avoids jail time for weapons possession with strict plea deal terms

Thanks to a plea deal Soulja Boy avoided lengthy jail time over charges relating to the discovery of guns at his residence in December, 2016. He initially pleaded not guilty to charges of felony possession of an assault weapon and being a felon in possession of a firearm but changed his plea to no contest.

The 26-year-old, who accepted a plea deal, is not allowed to threaten anyone or possess any deadly weapons, which includes replica or toy guns.

Under the terms of the deal the controversial rapper will also be on probation for five years and have to do 240 days of community work and he's not allowed to leave the country without permission from his probation officer.

Soulja Boy, real name DeAndre Cortez Way, was arrested outside his Hollywood Hills home last year after Law Enforcement were tipped off on the presence of guns in his home. The rapper who was already on a 24 month probation following his loaded gun case from 2014 was allegedly threatening people online with guns, a blatant violation of his probation.
