Cristiano Ronaldo is the best player I ever played with, admits Ryan Giggs

Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs has named Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo as the best player he ever played with.

The Welshman retired in 2014 after a glittering career at Old Trafford where he became the most decorated player in British football history during a 23-year stint.

Giggs won the Champions League on two occasions and was an influential figure in all four of Sir Alex Ferguson’s great sides.

However, despite playing alongside the likes of Paul Scholes, Roy Keane, Rio Ferdinand and Eric Cantona, Giggs admits it was Ronaldo that was his best team-mate.

‘The best player I’ve played with?’ said Giggs.

‘That’s a tough one…but I’d definitely go for Cristiano Ronaldo.’
